What is radish root ferment?

Radish root ferment is a natural preservative derived from fermented radish roots. The INCI name for radish root ferment is Leuconostoc Radish Root Ferment .

Radish root ferment production

Lactic acid bacteria are used to produce radish root ferment. This traditional Korean production method is also used to make gut-friendly kimichii. During the fermentation process, the bacteria secrete a peptide with antimicrobial properties, thus creating the ferments.

Radish root ferment mode of action

The ferments from radish root are excellent food for the "good" bacteria on the skin, thus promoting a healthy skin microbiome. A healthy skin microbiome with many beneficial bacteria offers little space for pathogenic bacteria, resulting in fewer inflammations. Radish root ferment also has antioxidant properties.
