Sodium Benzoate: mild preservative for skin care

Sodium benzoate (the salt of benzoic acid) is a mild preservative that is particularly effective in cosmetic products against the growth of fungi.

Unlike other preservatives, sodium benzoate cannot be used alone for preservation. Therefore, you will often see it in combination with other preservatives. It is often combined with potassium sorbate (potassium salt) .
