Potassium sorbate is (German: potassium salt) is a very mild preservative for cosmetic products that is particularly effective against the proliferation of yeast and mold . It does not work against bacteria. Therefore, Potassium Sorbate should be combined with a suitable other preservative, such as Pentylene Glycol .
Potassium Sorbate is used, for example, in baby products .
