INCI: Inulin

Effect: Probiotics

Compatibility: very good

What is inulin?

Inulin is a probiotic – beneficial both in nutrition and for the skin. It is a naturally occurring fructose polysaccharide found in the roots and rhizomes of various plants, such as chicory. It can be used in the diet as a healthy sugar alternative, but it is much less sweet.

Inulin: Effects on the skin

Inulin is beneficial in skincare due to its prebiotic activity . It promotes the growth of beneficial microorganisms while preventing harmful bacteria from multiplying. This leads to a healthy skin microbiome and a resilient, protective acid mantle in the long term.

Inulin also has a moisturizing effect.
