Posted by Lara Schimweg on
Betaine werden aus Rüben gewonnen

INCI: Betaine

Effect: moisturizing, reduces the effects of surfactants

Compatibility: very good

Betaine is an amino acid derived from beets. Betaine moisturizes the skin. What's special about betaine is that it's an osmolyte. This means that the molecules regulate the amount of water in your skin, keeping it consistently moist .

Betaine's secret superpower: In shampoos and cleansers , it softens harsh surfactants (washing agents). This is especially beneficial for stressed, sensitive, dry skin, because harsh surfactants strip too much of the skin's natural oils.
